“Don’t Open the Door Alone”: Delhi Woman’s Creepy Blinkit Midnight Delivery Post Goes Viral
A woman in Delhi’s residential neighbourhood had a disturbing encounter during a late-night Blinkit delivery, which has now gone viral after she shared her experience on Reddit. What was meant to be a simple ice cream order turned into a chilling event that has sparked a conversation about safety for women living alone in the city.
Posting under the title “Scary Blinkit guy on my door at midnight,” the woman shared that she had ordered a tub of ice cream around midnight. She mentioned that her sister went to the door to collect the order, but what followed left them both shaken.
“Guys! This needs immediate attention, especially from women staying alone in Delhi,” she wrote in the post. “I just ordered a tub of ice cream (late-night cravings, of course) from Blinkit. This guy came to deliver my order. I sent my sister to take it, and she told me something that gave me goosebumps.”
According to her, the delivery agent did not approach the door directly. “The guy exited the lift and saw my sister waiting. But instead of walking straight to the door, he looked around the entire floor. When my sister asked why, he ignored her and kept looking around,” she said.
The woman described the delivery agent’s appearance and behaviour as deeply unsettling. “His eyes were bloodshot and wide open. He didn’t blink or speak. I don’t know how else to explain it; he looked possessed. I was scared he’d hurt us.”
Fearing for their safety, she instructed him to leave the ice cream on the floor and made sure he left before locking the door. “I called out for my dad, even though he was asleep, just to let the guy think we weren’t alone,” she added.

The Reddit post quickly gained attention, with many users commenting on the importance of staying cautious. One user wrote, “It’s safer to ask delivery guys to leave the parcel outside or in the lift. Don’t engage late at night if you’re alone.” Another added, “There should be a dedicated drop zone for parcels, but sadly, people prefer door delivery over walking downstairs. It’s a dilemma.”
While some pointed out that the delivery agent could have been overworked or unwell, the post has served as a reminder that routine activities like food delivery can feel threatening in certain situations, especially at night.
