DRI Pune Seizes ₹10.3 Crore Worth Of Hydroponic Weed From Passengers Arriving From Bangkok; 3 Held
Based on specific intelligence, officers of DRI Pune, Mumbai Zonal Unit intercepted two passengers arriving from Bangkok to Pune on 12.05.2025.
On examination of their checked-in baggage, officers recovered 11 airtight pouches containing 9864 gm of greenish lumpy substance purported to be hydroponic weed.The substance tested positive in the field test kit.
In a simultaneous follow up in Mumbai, one of the receiver/distributors was apprehended. Follow up search at his premises resulted in recovery of 478 gm of narcotic substances viz Hashish and hydroponic weed.
The recovered 10.3 kg of narcotics substance with illicit market value of Rs 10.3 Cr was seized and all 3 persons were arrested, under the provisions of NDPS Act,1985.
Further investigation is in progress.
