Emotional Courtroom Reunion: 21-Year-Old Meets Father for the First Time Amid Divorce Proceedings in Pune

In a striking and emotional turn of events, a 21-year-old son found himself in a Pune courtroom, where he met his father for the very first time amidst the backdrop of a divorce and the need for a caste certificate. It’s just so emotional, showing how much strain marital issues can put on kids, leaving them as these silent sufferers in the middle of all the unresolved pain and hurt.
Meera and Rajesh (names changed) had been apart for over twenty years. They were married in May 2002 through an arranged marriage, but their relationship began to fall apart just a few months later due to irreconcilable differences. In May 2003, Meera gave birth to their son, Rohan (name changed), but Rajesh never returned to see either of them after the birth.
Meera moved back to her parents’ house shortly after, and Rajesh filed a petition asking her to return to their home. However, Meera refused and instead sought financial support for herself and Rohan. The court ordered Rajesh to provide financial assistance, but he did not comply with this obligation and eventually withdrew his petition.
As the years went by, the couple completely stopped communicating. Rohan, who grew up without his father, recently needed a caste certificate and other documents to continue his education after finishing his 12th standard. When Meera was unable to obtain these documents, she sent a legal notice to Rajesh through her lawyer, Advocate Anagha Kale.
Rajesh agreed to provide the necessary documents but requested a divorce in return. The couple decided to proceed with a mutual divorce and filed the required paperwork in court.
During the court proceedings, Rohan was there with his mother and saw his father for the first time. In the meantime, Rohan has received the documents he needs to pursue his education, bringing some closure to a difficult period in his life.
The divorce is set to be finalized in January 2025.
