Engineering Student Claims Superpowers, Jumps from Fourth Floor
An engineering student named A. Prabhu, 19, jumped from the fourth floor of his college hostel in Malumichampatti, Tamil Nadu, on the evening of October 28, 2024, to demonstrate his supposed superpowers. He sustained serious injuries to his hands, legs, and head and is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital. Prabhu, a third-year student, is from Mekkur village in Erode district and was living in the hostel.
Police seized his mobile phone, discovering videos he recorded earlier that morning, which included footage of the hostel’s height. Although he is in stable condition, his recovery will take time, and it seems he may have been struggling with severe depression. A case has been filed, and the investigation is ongoing.
Prabhu claimed he had superpowers and told his friends he wouldn’t get injured no matter which building he jumped from. Last week, he also mentioned having magical abilities. On Monday evening around 6:30 pm, he jumped from the fourth floor of the college hostel, resulting in injuries to his hands, legs, and head.
Two students witnessed the incident and quickly alerted others, leading to Prabhu being rushed to a private hospital in Othakalmandapam for emergency care. He was later transferred to Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore for further treatment.
The incident has shocked the local community and sparked widespread discussions.
