Exciting News for Kalyan Residents! Durgadi to Titwala Road Work Speeds Up, Cutting Travel Time by 20 Minutes

Exciting News for Kalyan Residents! Durgadi to Titwala Road Work Speeds Up, Cutting Travel Time by 20 Minutes.
The construction of the ring road that links Durgadi to Titwala is advancing quickly and aims to alleviate traffic congestion, allowing for quicker travel across the city. This road is anticipated to be opened for traffic by the end of March. With its completion, the journey from Kalyan to Titwala could take just 20 minutes without any interruptions.
The plan for the ring road connecting Kalyan to Dombivli was introduced in 2013 and consists of 8 phases, gaining approval in 2017. However, many farmers opposed the acquisition of their farmland, homes, and income-producing trees, seeking compensation. Despite these challenges, the administration proceeded with the construction of phases 4 to 7 of the road from Durgadi to Titwala, and now 90% of the work has been finished.
A significant challenge arose due to the Adharwadi dumping site. The ‘MMRDA’ indicated that the road could not be completed until the dumping was addressed. In response, the municipal administration suggested stopping the dumping of waste in this area and proposed using biomining to manage the waste.
It has been determined that the waste that has been cleared from the dumping site in the last year will allow for the construction of the road in that location. Therefore, the administration aims to have this road operational by March 2025.
The western regions of Kalyan, such as Khadakpada, Barave, and Yogi Dham, will experience reduced travel times for people traveling towards Ambivli and Titwala. Furthermore, the heap of waste at the city’s entrance will be eliminated for good.
