NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) MP Supriya Sule visited the Swargate bus depot on March 3, inspecting the site of the recent crime and addressing the media. Expressing her anger, she criticized the handling of the case, calling the police response insensitive.

Sule pointed out a sharp rise in crime across Maharashtra, particularly against women, citing recent incidents, including an attack on a police officer by a gang in Chakan and misconduct involving Union Minister Raksha Khadse’s daughter.

She condemned the Swargate incident as a disgrace to the system, emphasizing that the crime occurred just steps away from a busy road and a police station. “The victim was terrorized. As a society, we must strongly oppose such atrocities,” she said.

Calling for urgent action, Sule demanded that Maharashtra set an example by fast-tracking such cases in court and ensuring swift justice. “Criminals in such cases should be given the death penalty in public squares,” she asserted, urging the government to act decisively.
