FASTag Annual Pass from August 15: Price, Activation & Key Details in Simple Words

FASTag Annual Pass Launched: ₹3,000 for 200 Trips or 1 Year, Check Price, Benefits and How to Buy
July 31, 2025: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will launch a new FASTag Annual Pass starting August 15, 2025, aimed at regular highway travellers. The annual pass will cost Rs 3,000 and allow up to 200 toll-free trips or one year of free travel on National Highway (NH) and National Expressway (NE) toll plazas—whichever comes first.
This move is expected to benefit frequent travellers by saving money on repeated toll payments through a one-time fee.
Activation Process
The pass can be activated only through the Rajmargyatra mobile app or the NHAI website. Users must verify their vehicle and FASTag details, then pay Rs 3,000. Once the payment is confirmed, the pass will be active within 2 hours.
Where It’s Applicable
The FASTag Annual Pass is valid only at NH and NE toll plazas. At toll booths managed by state governments, private operators, or parking facilities, the pass will not be valid, and regular FASTag charges will apply.
Validity
The pass is valid for one year from activation or 200 trips, whichever happens first. After that, it automatically turns into a regular FASTag. Users must re-activate to continue using the annual pass benefits.
Who Can Use It?
This pass is meant only for private non-commercial vehicles like cars, jeeps, or vans. It will be verified through the VAHAN database. If used in a commercial vehicle, the pass will be deactivated without any notice.
What Counts as One Trip?
- At regular toll plazas, each crossing counts as one trip. A round trip (going and coming back) is counted as two trips.
- At entry-exit based tolls (like expressways), one full journey is counted as one trip.
The government has advised regular commuters to activate their passes early to avoid delays once the system goes live.
