On the occasion of India’s 79th Independence Day, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has launched the FASTag Annual Pass, offering highway travellers a more convenient and cost-effective way to commute on National Highways and Expressways.

With a one-time payment of ₹3,000, vehicle owners can enjoy 200 trips or one year of toll-free travel (whichever comes first) without repeatedly stopping at toll plazas. This facility is applicable for cars, jeeps, and vans (non-commercial vehicles) and will be linked to the user’s existing FASTag.

Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari stated that this pass could help motorists save up to ₹7,000 annually, as it reduces the average per-trip toll cost from ₹80–₹100 to just ₹15.
