Final Destination in Real Life? Men and Child Risky Escape from Stuck Lift, Video Viral
A video circulating online shows a group of young men trapped inside a lift. Instead of waiting for professional help, they decided to rescue themselves — a daring act that instantly reminded many viewers of chilling scenes from the thriller film Final Destination.
The video, reportedly from a residential society in India, shows several men stuck in a malfunctioning lift. Though the exact location remains unclear, the visuals reveal how the group forced the lift’s doors open by tampering with its locking mechanism.
The Risky Escape
Once the doors were pried apart, the lift was positioned midway between two floors, leaving only a narrow gap for escape. One member of the group held onto the door while the others carefully climbed out through the small opening. Even a child among them was made to jump out safely before the rest followed, one by one.
Viral Reactions
The clip quickly went viral, with many social media users comparing it to Final Destination. “This scene instantly reminded me of Final Destination,” wrote one viewer.
Another joked, “Engineers can never get stuck in an elevator — worst case, it just becomes a surprise project!” Others, however, expressed fear, saying such incidents were exactly why they avoid lifts altogether.
While the men managed to escape unharmed, experts caution that such self-rescue attempts can be highly dangerous. Standard safety guidelines advise passengers to remain inside and wait for trained maintenance staff or emergency responders.
