Fine of Rs 1500 For Driving in BRTS Lanes Issued by Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police

Pune: Taking strict action against people who drive in BRTS lanes, the Pimpri Chinchwad traffic police have introduced a fine of Rs 1500 for them.
As per information from Pimpri Chinchwad Traffic Police, at present, different types of light and heavy vehicles are seen entering the BRTS route. Due to these vehicles, the accidents are increasing day by day causing loss of life and money. Also, steel railings, bus stops in the BRTS, and roads are frequently damaged. Hence, to ensure safe and smooth traffic in Pimpri Chinchwad City, the Pimpri Chinchwad City Traffic Police have issued the following orders related to driving in the BRTS lane:
- Access to BRT routes under Pimpri Chinchwad Commissionerate is being closed to vehicles other than BRTS buses (i.e. excluding fire brigade, police vehicles, ambulances, etc.)
Hence, citizens should use other routes instead of using BRTS routes for commuting. The said orders are being implemented from September 1, 2023.
