A fire broke out at a TVS Motor showroom and service centre on Pune’s Bund Garden Road on Monday night, resulting in approximately 60 two-wheelers being completely gutted. Authorities confirmed that while there were no casualties, one individual trapped inside the service centre due to smoke was successfully rescued by personnel from the Pune Fire Brigade.
According to fire officials, “the incident caused damage to nearly 60 petrol and electric two-wheelers, both new and those brought in for servicing.” Additionally, “spare parts, furniture, and electronic devices present inside the facility were also destroyed in the fire.”
Officials from the Pune Fire Brigade stated that the control room received a fire alert at around 8:38 PM. The fire had broken out at the Professional TVS Showroom and Service Centre situated on the ground floor of the three-storey Tarabaug building. As per a fire official, “smoke and flames were seen emanating from the showroom upon arrival.” Fire tenders and water tankers were immediately dispatched, and the blaze was brought under control within minutes.

One official further explained, “our personnel arrived to find a large-scale blaze in the service centre, with several two-wheelers engulfed in flames and thick smoke filling the premises.” The official also stated that “a person affected by smoke inhalation was rescued safely by the team using breathing apparatus.”
In addition to vehicles, “electrical wiring, machinery, batteries, computers, furniture, and important documents” were also damaged in the fire, the official added.
