Fire Erupts at Andheri's Jyoti Hotel; 35 People Safely Rescued in Swift Operation
A major fire broke out in the early hours of Monday at Jyoti Hotel in the Chakala area of Andheri East, Mumbai, triggering panic among guests and nearby residents. The incident occurred around 3:00 am, when flames were first seen on the sixth floor of the hotel, rapidly spreading through the structure and trapping several occupants inside.
According to officials, 35 people were stuck in the building at the time of the blaze. The Mumbai Fire Brigade acted swiftly, dispatching five fire engines to the location. Firefighters worked for nearly an hour to bring the flames under control and successfully evacuated everyone without injuries.

Despite the intensity of the fire and the damage to several rooms, no casualties were reported. Smoke and flames billowed from the upper floors as crews continued their efforts into the morning hours.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Preliminary assessments have ruled out a short-circuit or gas leak, but officials are keeping all possibilities open. Structural experts are also assessing the building’s safety before it can be reopened.
