India, the world’s largest democracy, is built on the foundation of its Constitution. To promote awareness and spread knowledge about this significant document, the first-ever Samvidhan Bhavan in the country is being constructed in Pimpri-Chinchwad.

The foundation stone was laid today, and BJP MLA Mahesh Landge expressed his confidence that this building would be a source of pride for the entire Pimpri-Chinchwad community.

The Samvidhan Bhavan, along with a Vipassana Center, will be built at Plot No. 11 under the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), an initiative driven by MLA Mahesh Landge. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including former Mayor Rahul Jadhav, former Standing Committee Chairman Nitin Landge, Santosh Londhe, Vilas Madigeri, RPI leader Chandrakanta Sonkamble, Harshvardhan Bhante, former corporators Vikas Dolas, Anuradha Gorkhe, Namrata Londhe, and many other prominent figures from the region.

In his speech, MLA Mahesh Landge highlighted that in 2019, efforts to construct the Samvidhan Bhavan began through the Pimpri-Chinchwad New Town Development Authority (PCNTDA). However, during the tenure of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, the project was delayed. Once the Mahayuti (Grand Alliance) came to power in 2022, the project regained momentum. Landge, along with other leaders, worked persistently to have the land transferred from the PMRDA to the Municipal Corporation. Now, with the foundation stone laid, Landge expressed his immense satisfaction.

A Proud Moment for Pimpri-Chinchwad Citizens
Inspired by the thoughts of Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Samvidhan Bhavan will serve as a center for spreading awareness about the Indian Constitution and studying the constitutions of democratic nations worldwide. The project will also include an international-standard library, a suggestion that MLA Mahesh Landge had previously made to the Municipal Corporation. “The creation of the Samvidhan Bhavan in Pimpri-Chinchwad is indeed a proud moment for all of us,” remarked Landge.
