An Air India Express flight from Pune to the city had to return to the airport after takeoff due to a medical emergency on board. The flight (15-330) was supposed to depart from Pune around 5.20 pm and reach Lucknow by 7.35 pm. It took off at 5.36 pm with over 100 passengers on board. Reports mention that a 22-year-old passenger began to feel unwell, and the cabin crew was alerted. The pilot then made the decision to turn the aircraft back to Pune.
An X user wrote on the social media platform asking for the whereabouts of his family members. He said, “I have a family travelling on the Pune Lucknow flight which returned to Pune after the take off.”
Sources at the airport informed the passenger that a first-time flyer may have experienced a panic attack. “Often, people who are regular train travelers find flying uncomfortable, and some may have medical issues. In this instance, even though the youth was okay, being a first-time flyer, he felt uneasy after takeoff. Upon landing back in Pune, he underwent a thorough check-up, and his vitals were normal,” the official stated. A source from the airline mentioned, “A passenger fell ill, leading to the aircraft returning. The flight resumed around 7 pm.”
