New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, 92, was admitted to the emergency department of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi on Thursday evening, December 26, 2024, after his health reportedly deteriorated.

Sources indicate that Dr. Singh was brought to the hospital around 8 p.m., but the reason for his hospitalization has not yet been disclosed. The hospital has not issued any official statement regarding his health condition.

Dr. Manmohan Singh is widely recognized for his pivotal role in India’s economic transformation during his tenure as the Finance Minister from 1991 to 1996 in the government led by PV Narasimha Rao. He spearheaded key economic reforms that reshaped the nation’s economy.
