Amit Banerji, the founder, chairman, and CEO of the managed workspace provider Table Space, passed away on Monday morning due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 45. In a statement, the Bengaluru-based startup expressed that Banerji’s leadership was instrumental in shaping Table Space into the company it is today. Banerji established Table Space in 2017 after a 13-year career at Accenture, where he held various roles and ultimately led the corporate real estate segment. He managed Accenture’s office space portfolio in India from 2008 until his departure in 2017. His unexpected passing follows closely after the death of Rohan Mirchandani, co-founder of Epigamia, who also died from a sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 42.

Banerji, a graduate of Punjab Technical University, completed his B Tech in Computer Science from 1998 to 2002. He started his career at Accenture, a major IT company, in January 2004, where he worked for more than 13 years. During his time there, he handled various aspects of real estate strategy, including planning, acquisitions, deal structuring, finance, and operations.

His professional journey provided him with valuable experience in the real estate sector, which eventually led to the founding of Table Space. Banerji co-founded the company with seven partners, including Karan Chopra (Vice-chairman and Chief Investment Officer), Kunal Mehra (President), Srinivas Prasad (Chief Strategy Officer), Krishnaswamy Nagarajan (COO and CEO of Table Space Services), and Anurag Tyagi (CEO of Table Space Constructions).
