Pune | August 2, 2025: In a swift investigation, the Kale Padal Police Station in Pune cracked a murder case within just two hours, arresting the accused who shockingly turned out to be the victim’s friend.

At around 4:52 AM on August 2, 2025, the Pune Police Control Room received a call via Dial 112 from a man named Kisan Rajmangal Saha (20), a resident of Motihari district in Bihar. He reported that his friend, Ravikumar Shivshankar Yadav (33), had been attacked by four unknown assailants who arrived on a motorcycle and struck him on the head with an iron rod over a dispute related to bedding material. The incident reportedly occurred near Saiganga Society, on Undri Handewadi road.

Upon reaching the location, police officials found Yadav lying in a pool of blood inside a makeshift shed. He was immediately examined by medical personnel from the 108 ambulance service and declared dead.

However, inconsistencies in the caller’s version of events and the lack of CCTV footage showing any outsiders near the scene raised suspicion. Further inquiries revealed prior disputes between the caller and the deceased.

When confronted, the caller — Kisan Saha — confessed to killing Yadav. He admitted that the two had been drinking together when Yadav allegedly hurled abusive remarks about Saha’s family and assaulted him. Angered by repeated past altercations, Saha waited until Yadav fell asleep, then fatally attacked him with an iron rod.

The accused has been booked under IPC Section 302 (murder), and the investigation is being led by PSI Ratnadeep Gaikwad under the guidance of senior officials including DCP Rajkumar Shinde and ACP Dnyaneshwar Godse, Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil.

The prompt action was carried out by a special team including PSI Vilas Sutar, API Amit Shete, PI Anil Nimbalkar, and several other dedicated officers from the Kale Padal Police Station.
