So, what does an IAS officer earn today? As of October 2024, the starting monthly salary for an IAS officer in India is ₹56,100, excluding allowances. This figure can significantly increase with promotions and years of service.

The highest salary an IAS officer can earn is ₹2,50,000 per month, which aligns with the salary of the Cabinet Secretary of India.

According to the 7th Pay Commission, IAS officers receive various benefits in addition to their base salary, with House Rent Allowance (HRA) being a significant perk.
