PUNE: “It wasn’t just my success; it was our victory.” These powerful words reflect the emotional triumph of Aarti Rajendra Kalyani, who cleared the CA Final Examination in her very first attempt in May 2025. Her journey is not just about academic excellence, but also about determination, self-belief, and the enduring strength of a mother-daughter bond.
Aarti’s result card symbolizes years of relentless perseverance, sacrifices, and sleepless nights. Raised by a single mother, she has emerged as a beacon of hope for many students navigating tough personal and financial circumstances.
The Big Moment
Speaking to Pune Pulse, Aarti recalled the moment she saw her results.
“I was in complete disbelief. For a few long seconds, I kept double-checking my result and name. But then the truth hit me—I had done it. The first thought that flooded my mind was of my mother—her struggles, her faith in me even when I doubted myself. I broke down in tears, overwhelmed with relief, gratitude, and love.”
Motivation During Tough Times
Becoming a Chartered Accountant is no small feat, and Aarti attributes her motivation to her mother’s sacrifices.
“What kept me going was the thought of changing my mother’s life. Her sacrifices and unwavering belief in my dreams pushed me through every challenge. I constantly thought about her happiness and how I could give her the life she truly deserves. Every difficult moment became a step closer to making her proud.”
The Strength of a Single Mother
Aarti was raised by her mother, Jayashri Rajendra Kalyani, who played both parental roles with grace and strength.
“Being raised by a single mother has shaped everything I am,” Aarti said. “She gave up her own comfort to ensure I had a chance at a better life. Her resilience taught me the meaning of true strength and perseverance.”
Jayashri, in turn, reflects on the sacrifices she made.
“Supporting Aarti’s education meant working through pain, planning every rupee, and pushing myself beyond limits. But her determination made it worth it. Her result is a dream fulfilled—not just hers, but mine too.”
Moments of Doubt
There were moments when Aarti felt like giving up, but her mother’s smiling face kept her going.
“Her pain, her relentless effort—it all reminded me that giving up was not an option. I had to make it, for her.”
Mentorship and Support
Aarti credits not just her mother, but also the Dagdusheth Ganapati Bappa Trust for providing vital support.
“The blessings of Dagdusheth Bappa and the trust’s sponsorship eased our financial burden and gave me peace of mind. My teachers, friends, and extended family also mentored and supported me throughout, helping me stay grounded and focused.”
Words to Aspiring CAs
To young students from modest backgrounds, Aarti offers simple yet profound advice:
“Keep your ‘WHY’ strong. For me, it was my mother. Let the sacrifices of your loved ones drive you. Stay focused, be grateful, and believe in yourself—because you are capable of more than you think.”
A Mother’s Perspective
Looking back, Jayashri says watching Aarti succeed has been the most meaningful moment of her life.
“Raising her alone and seeing her become a CA in her first attempt—it’s a moment of pride and validation. Her success reflects not only her strength but also every struggle we silently endured.”
Despite numerous challenges, Jayashri never lost faith.
“There were very tough times—financially and emotionally—but help from the Dagdusheth Trust and the strength we drew from each other saw us through. Our family’s support helped lighten the load.”
Values and Lessons
Jayashri always emphasized key values while raising her daughter.
“I taught her to be honest, work hard, and never fear failure. Most importantly, I taught her to be a good human being. Today, I see all those values in her—humility, strength, and unwavering focus.”
Message to Single Parents
To other single parents, Jayashri offers encouragement:
“Don’t give up, even when it feels like no one notices your struggle. Your child is watching, learning, and drawing strength from you every day. Believe in them, believe in yourself. The seeds you plant today will bloom in ways you can’t even imagine.”
Aarti’s success is not just the story of a student passing an exam—it’s the story of a mother and daughter rising above every obstacle together, with love, resilience, and faith.
