Bengaluru, August 4, 2025: Industrialist and Raymond Group Chairman Gautam Singhania has once again taken aim at luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini after a ₹10 crore Aventador caught fire in Bengaluru on Sunday evening. The incident, which quickly went viral on social media, has reignited safety concerns about high-end supercars operating on Indian roads.

The car, owned by social media influencer Sanjeev—known online as Nimma Mane Maga Sanju—was seen engulfed in flames from the rear engine area. Bystanders rushed in with water, sand, and a fire extinguisher to contain the blaze. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, and Sanjeev later clarified that the damage was minor. “The car is safe. It was a small fire, and we managed to control it quickly,” he posted.

Gautam Singhania reshared the video of the burning Lamborghini on X (formerly Twitter), strongly criticizing the automaker. “This isn’t a ‘rare incident’ anymore. It’s a pattern,” he wrote. “Why is Lamborghini silent? Why are their cars catching fire? Are their cars safe? Should they be allowed in India?”

This is not the first time Singhania has expressed frustration with the brand. In October 2024, he criticized Lamborghini’s India and Asia heads for failing to respond to his complaints after his Lamborghini Revuelto stalled on a Mumbai road just days after delivery. Calling out Sharad Agarwal and Francesco Scardaoni for their “arrogance,” he had posted about repeated mechanical issues within just 15 days of ownership.

The latest fire has added to a growing list of Lamborghini-related mishaps in India. A similar fire incident involving the Revuelto model occurred in Mumbai last year, raising questions about the brand’s reliability and customer support.

Sanjeev, who is known for his collection of luxury vehicles and flashy gold jewellery, also identifies as a farmer. The exact cause of Sunday’s fire remains unknown.

With multiple cases now coming to light, concerns are mounting about the safety standards and after-sales service of luxury supercars on Indian roads—especially in extreme weather and traffic conditions.
