Gold Ornaments Worth ₹60.70 Lakh Looted At Gunpoint Outside Pune Railway Station; Two Armed Accused Booked
Pune: Two unidentified men armed with a pistol allegedly robbed a courier carrying eight parcels of gold ornaments worth ₹60.70 lakh near Pune railway station on the morning of June 11. The Bund Garden police have registered a case and launched a hunt for the suspects.
According to the FIR, the incident took place around 9:15 AM when an employee of Ambe Express Logistics Company, who had brought the gold parcels from Mumbai, was approached by the duo as he exited the station. One of the men pressed a pistol against the courier’s waist and forcibly took the parcels before fleeing the scene.
The gold consignment, belonging to the Mumbai branch of Kothari and Kothari Company, was being delivered to its Pune branch. The courier had boarded a train from Mumbai and was on his way to the company’s local office when the robbery occurred.
A manager at the logistics firm and a resident of Andheri, lodged the complaint at Bund Garden Police Station.
Police are analyzing the visuals and will apprehend the culprits soon.
