Pune: According to reports, Google is working on a ‘voice typing’ feature for its email service. This feature would enable users to compose messages solely using their voice, with the assistance of artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance and complete their messages before sending them. This potential addition to the “Help Me Write” tool, which is part of Google’s Duet AI platform, is being integrated into Google Workspace, the company’s suite of productivity tools.
The utilization of voice dictation has proven to be an invaluable tool for individuals seeking to swiftly send messages or replies while on the go, en route to a meeting, or attending an appointment. With the assistance of Duet AI, the fragments of their spoken notes are skillfully transformed into polished and formal messages.
Furthermore, the team has recently discovered indications that the implementation of the ‘Help me write’ feature in Duet AI may be undergoing a subtle modification. In the event that your email message lacks content, a suggestion for the message will be presented upon selecting the ‘Help me write’ option.
Conversely, if you have already commenced writing, the “Refine my message” menu will materialize, offering various alternatives such as Formalize, Elaborate, and Shorten. Additionally, there is an option to ‘Write a draft,’ which will redirect you to the suggestion field.
Google has recently launched the updated version of its Help Me Write tool for Gmail on Android and iOS. However, the availability of its voice typing feature is still uncertain. Although the presence of this feature in the APK suggests that Google is working on its integration, the timeline for its release remains unclear. This announcement was made by Google in June 2023 to aid users in composing email responses.
