Government slashes rate of COVID19 at private health check up labs

For the past few months, people from various sectors were demanding that the charges taken by private health check up labs should be reduced. Earlier, the charges were fixed at Rs 4500. Today minister for Health Rajesh Tope announced that private labs cannot charge more than Rs 2200 for COVID19 tests. Also if the swabs are taken at the patients home it should not exceed more than Rs 2800. Earlier the charges for the swab tests were Rs 4500 and home visit for swab testing were Rs 5200 since use of PPE kits made the cost higher.
