Hearing on objections and suggestions on merger of 23 villages in PMC to be held online on April 19 & 20

According to the directives issued by the state government to the divisional commissioner, the procedure for suggestions and objections shall be held online on April 19 and 20.
On December 23, 2020 the state government had issued a draft notification for the merger of 23 villages in Pune Municipal Corporation limits. Villages such as Sus, Bavdhan Budruk, Mahalunge, Kopre, Nanded, Khadakwasla, Holkarwadi, Autade Handewadi, Wadachiwadi, Pisoli, Kondhwe Dhawade, Manjri Budruk, Kolewadi, Wagholi, Gujar Nimbalkarwadi, Mangdewadi, Nandoshi, Shewalewadi, Narhe.
The total area of PMC is around 485 sqkm, which makes it the largest municipal corporation in the state. As per the directives issued by the state, the divisional commissioner was asked to conduct a procedure for the objections as well as suggestions for the merger process. The scrutiny on the objections was held on March 15.

The administration received a total of 491 suggestions and objections which will now be taken up for a public hearing.
Out of 491, Pisoli village residents raised around 389 suggestions and objections. only 12 villages raised their suggestions and objections out of 23. Now as per the new directives, the hearing of 11 villages namely, Kopre, Sus, Narhe, Wadachiwadi, Nandoshi, Kirkatwadi, Manjari Budruk, Kolewadi, Nanded, Wagholi and Holkarwadi shall be held on April 19 and for Pisoli village it will be held on April 20.
The hearing will be held at the local gram panchayat office, for which the notices will be issued to the applicants who have made their suggestions and raised objections on the notification.
The link for online hearing shall be provided at the gram panchayat office and also a time slot shall be alloted to the applicant, wherein the applicant needs to remain present. The notice regarding the timing for the slot shall be displayed on the gram panchayat notice board. Individual letters shall be issued to the applicants too, said Saurabh Rao, divisional commissioner, Pune.
