Navi Mumbai, October 2, 2025: Navi Mumbai International Airport, one of India’s most awaited infrastructure projects, is ready and set to open in November.

The new airport is expected to ease the load on Mumbai’s existing airport. Several flights will operate from Navi Mumbai, raising the question of how travelers can reach it conveniently.

There are seven major routes to access the airport from South Mumbai, Eastern and Western suburbs, Thane, Mira Road, and the Kalyan-Dombivli-Ambernath belt. Depending on the route, the travel distance ranges between 34 km to 45 km, with a travel time of 70 to 95 minutes.

For now, road connectivity via Atal Setu, Palm Beach Road, Thane-Belapur Road, and Airoli routes will serve passengers. The nearest railway station is Targhar, already completed and awaiting inauguration. Commuters can reach it via Seawoods or Belapur to Uran, then take a local train to Targhar.

Additionally, a dedicated Mumbai–Navi Mumbai Metro line is planned but will only be operational by 2029.
