If you are also dealing with face fat or a double chin, here’s everything you can do.
Breathing Habits Matter
Breathing through the mouth can put pressure on the jaw because the tongue rests on the floor of the mouth instead of the roof. This can make the face look wider and alter facial structure. Practicing nose breathing can help maintain the natural shape of the face.
Eat the Right Foods
For non-vegetarians, grilled chicken breast, eggs, and fish like salmon or tuna are good options. These foods provide protein and healthy fats, which help improve skin health and make the face appear tighter. Avoid meats cooked in curries, as they are often high in oil and salt.
Vegetarians can focus on whole grains like quinoa, buckwheat, jawar, and millets instead of refined flour. High-fiber foods such as spinach, kale, beetroot, berries, and apples help you feel full and prevent unnecessary snacking. Lean proteins like low-fat paneer, tofu, moong dal, seitan, and boiled chickpeas are also recommended. Avoid dairy and artificial sugar for at least three months during your face fat reduction plan.
Hard foods that require chewing, such as raw cucumber, carrots, celery, coconut, corn on the cob, and nuts like almonds and pistachios, can also help tone facial muscles. Sugar-free chewing gum in moderation may help as well.
Detox Juice for Facial Slimming
A simple detox juice can support your efforts. Combine a slice of petha (winter squash), a teaspoon of turmeric, the juice of half a cucumber, and a twig of curry leaves (meetha neem). Drinking this regularly may help with overall body detox and support face fat reduction.
Get Enough Sleep
Sleep is important for weight management and reducing facial fat. Lack of sleep increases cortisol, a hormone that can cause weight gain and fat storage. Aim for at least eight hours of sleep every night to support metabolism and healthy digestion.
Facial Exercises
Facial exercises can help tone muscles and improve appearance. Simple exercises include puffing out cheeks and moving air side to side, holding a smile while clenching teeth, and chin lifts. Doing these exercises a few minutes daily may help strengthen facial muscles and make the face look slimmer.
Cardio Exercise Helps
Cardio exercises increase heart rate and help burn fat, including in the face. Running, walking, dancing, biking, and swimming are effective options. Aim for 20 to 40 minutes of cardio daily, or 150 to 300 minutes per week, to support overall fat loss and reduce fat around the cheeks, chin, and neck.
By combining proper eating habits, sufficient sleep, facial exercises, and regular cardio, it is possible to reduce face fat naturally over time.
