Motherhood is full of guilt. What if I am not enough. What if I make mistakes. Know this – YOU are, in your own way, building a world where she can chase anything.

Forgive yourself. You are enough
On Women’s Day, Mittal took to social media platform X to express the emotional journey of raising her two young daughters while managing her demanding role as an IAS officer in Uttar Pradesh.
“Nothing Prepared Me for Motherhood”
“I am an IAS officer. I have studied at IIT and IIM. But nothing prepared me for raising my two little daughters,” she wrote, highlighting the unexpected challenges of parenting.
Mittal spoke about how her elder daughter, just eight years old, already faces societal pressures that try to silence her voice. She emphasized the importance of empowering young girls to speak up. “We can’t let them dim their light,” she urged.
The Emotional Toll of Parenting
In a heartfelt confession, Mittal admitted to moments of exhaustion and self-doubt. “I cry some nights. But then she hugs me and says, ‘You’re my hero.’ They watch us. They learn resilience from our failures,” she wrote.
She stressed the significance of allowing children to make their own mistakes while providing support. “Be her rock, not her crutch,” she advised fellow parents.
A Message to Mothers: “You Are Enough”
Addressing the guilt that many mothers experience, Mittal encouraged self-forgiveness. “Forgive yourself. You are enough,” she said, advocating for a balanced approach to parenting. She also underscored the importance of fairness over mere affection when raising multiple children.
Empowering Daughters with Empathy and Strength
Mittal’s post concluded with a powerful message for parents raising daughters: “They don’t need to become men to achieve greatness. Teach them empathy, love, and kindness. These are their strengths.”
Her heartfelt words serve as a reminder that mothers are the first role models for their children, shaping their world through everyday actions.
