New Delhi – Harsh Pokharna, CEO of OkCredit and an alumnus of IIT, recently embarked on an unconventional journey—an unplanned road trip across India. Leaving behind his corporate routine, Pokharna embraced the unpredictability of the road, sharing his experiences with humor and authenticity on Instagram.

During his month-long adventure, he spent ten nights sleeping in temples, dined on simple vegetarian meals, and even stumbled upon a liquor store that reminded him of an old Western movie. Among the many highlights was his visit to the breathtaking Chittorgarh Fort, a sight he described as impossible to capture in photographs.

Beyond the thrill of travel, the journey also held deep personal significance for Pokharna. He completed his grandfather’s final rites, an emotional moment that added a layer of introspection to his experience. His travels were also enriched by the generosity of strangers—most notably, a Malayali family who welcomed him into their home for three days, reinforcing his belief in the kindness of people across India.

Pokharna’s road trip was filled with diverse experiences, from trying couch surfing for the first time to visiting a mosque and spending a day at Gujarat’s Blackbuck National Park. Throughout his travels, he documented these moments with photographs—capturing everything from traditional meals to the solemnity of a burning ghat, offering a glimpse into the raw and unfiltered reality of his journey.

Despite being on the road, Pokharna remained committed to his fitness routine. He made it a point to visit local gyms in different towns, often persuading owners to let him work out for a couple of days. He noted with amusement that in smaller towns, gyms were often male-dominated spaces, with the only “female presence” being a Katrina Kaif poster on the wall.

Pokharna’s journey stands as a testament to the beauty of embracing spontaneity, forging unexpected connections, and finding inspiration in the most ordinary moments. His experience is not just a travelogue but a reflection of the countless stories that India has to offer—if one is willing to step out and explore.
