Pune, November 28: In light of the increasing number of fatalities due to road accidents, District Collector Dr. Suhas Divse has called for the implementation of necessary road safety measures across the district. He urged government officials, college staff, and students to set an example by wearing helmets, promoting awareness in the community.

Speaking at the District Road Safety Committee meeting held at the Collectorate, Dr. Divse emphasized the need to address traffic congestion on roads leading to Hinjewadi IT Park and to remove encroachments along these routes. Starting December 1, 2024, strict action will be taken against individuals entering government offices without helmets or violating traffic rules.

He also mandated helmet use for all employees in government, semi-government offices, corporations, municipal bodies, and educational institutions, encouraging others to follow suit. During the meeting, a presentation was given detailing plans to enforce traffic rules, reduce congestion, and streamline traffic management.
