Colliers report shows India’s rising prominence as a global technology hub amid AI-driven digital transformation

The global technology talent landscape in 2025 is being reshaped by the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence and large-scale digitalisation. According to Colliers’ Global Tech Markets: Top Talent Locations 2025 report, while the United States continues to dominate with 14 cities in the top 50, Asia is emerging as a powerful contender.

In the global top 10Beijing, Bengaluru, and Tokyo represent Asia’s growing weight in high-value tech hiring. Among them, Bengaluru has secured the 6th spot, reaffirming its position as India’s foremost IT hub and a global leader in digital innovation.

India’s rise is even more pronounced in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) rankings. Out of the top 10 APAC cities for tech talent acquisition, six are Indian, with four making it into the top fiveSingapore stands as the only non-Indian city in that upper tier.

The findings highlight how India has become a magnet for companies seeking advanced digital skills and AI expertise. Bengaluru leads the charge, but other Indian metros such as Hyderabad, Delhi-NCR, Pune, and Chennai are also increasingly attracting multinational firms, global capability centres, and AI research investments.

Experts note that India’s tech talent advantage stems from its vast STEM graduate pool, growing startup ecosystem, and government-backed initiatives that promote innovation. With companies worldwide restructuring their hiring strategies around AI and automation, Indian cities are positioned to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology.
