A simple smoothie recipe is taking Instagram by storm, and it’s not just because it looks delicious. Dietitian Manpreet Kalra, who posts as @dietitian_manpreet, has shared what she calls the ultimate “Hormonal Balance Smoothie” for women in their 40s. Her viral reel promises glowing skin, fat loss, better sleep, easier digestion, and even pain-free periods, all in one glass. This Dietitian’s Hormonal Balance Smoothie Is Going Viral

Kalra begins her post with an eye-catching caption: “Start your day with this Hormonal Balance Smoothie if you’re in your 40s!” She explains that this drink is “packed with ingredients that support glowing skin, a strong body, better sleep, smoother digestion, and healthy, pain-free periods.” With so many women struggling with hormonal changes in this decade of life, it’s no surprise her reel is getting so much attention.

The smoothie’s star ingredients are all everyday foods you can find at home. “Anjeer (Fig)—1 piece,” she lists first, followed by “Almonds—5pcs, Walnuts—2halves, Munakka (Black raisins)—3 pcs, Sattu (Roasted gram flour)—1 tbsp, Roasted & ground flaxseed powder—1tsp, Kesar (Saffron)—1 strand, Elaichi (Cardamom)—1 pod, Basil Seeds (Sabja)—1 tsp (soaked separately for 10-15 mins).”

But it’s not just what goes in, it’s how you prepare it. Kalra guides her followers step by step:“Soak anjeer, almonds, walnuts, and munakka in water. Blend all the soaked nuts with 1 cup of water until smooth. Add sattu, flaxseed powder, kesar, and elaichi. Blend again. Pour into a glass and stir in soaked basil seeds. Drink fresh on an empty stomach every morning.” She notes that soaking overnight or at least for two hours makes the nuts and raisins softer and easier to blend.

The dietitian also explains why each ingredient matters. “Anjeer boosts iron, regulates periods & aids digestion,” she writes. Almonds, she says, “strengthen bones, nourish skin & support hormones,” while walnuts help “reduce inflammation & promote better sleep.” Munakka, or black raisins, are known to “build hemoglobin & natural energy levels.”

The addition of sattu and flaxseed powder brings “high fiber, protein & better insulin sensitivity” while also helping to “balance estrogen & support skin health.” Even the tiny touches count, “Kesar, lifts mood, reduces cramps & brightens complexion. Elaichi, calms the mind, improves digestion & reduces bloating. Basil Seeds,  hydrates skin & lowers inflammation.”

Hormonal Health in Your 40s

Hormonal health in your 40s isn’t only about dealing with PMS or perimenopause. It’s also about keeping the entire hormone system in balance. A nutrient-rich smoothie like this can help in many ways, by keeping blood sugar steady so there are fewer energy crashes or mood swings, by supporting gut health which is key for clearing out extra hormones, and by helping the liver do its job of breaking down and removing them. It can also naturally boost skin and hair health, ease period cramps, and help regulate cycles.

If hormonal changes are starting to affect your everyday life, it’s important not to ignore them. There are simple lifestyle changes and medical treatments that can bring relief. Even small daily habits, like eating a balanced diet, staying active, managing stress with practices such as yoga or meditation, and making good sleep a priority, can make a big difference in easing hormone-related symptoms.
