In an interesting incident, a woman ended her seven-year-old relationship which was about to culminate in marriage due to a disagreement over her pet dog. The reports say that her mother-in-law had refused to allow her dog in the in-law’s house.
Priyanka shared her experience on social media X, revealing that during the wedding planning, her boyfriend’s demeanor shifted. He ceased to advocate for her and their relationship whenever conflicts emerged. Although the couple had no significant disputes, his mother’s involvement caused her distress.
Both families had agreed to the marriage; however, the boy’s mother refused Priyanka’s request to bring her dog with her after the wedding. Priyanka clarified that her ailing mother was unable to care for the dog, and she planned to take the pet to her fiancé’s home after the ceremony.
Priyanka wrote that the dog holds a place in her heart akin to that of a child, making it impossible for her to part ways with him. In light of the emotional distress she experienced and the absence of support from her boyfriend, Priyanka ultimately chose to conclude the relationship.
She revealed that the challenges in their relationship stemmed not from her connection with her partner, but rather from his mother’s disapproval. In her post, she conveyed her frustration regarding parental involvement, noting that their seven-year relationship concluded as a result of his mother’s influence.
The news elicited a variety of responses on social media. While several individuals expressed their support for Priyanka, others deemed her choice as impulsive and overly theatrical. One user even suggested that the narrative was fabricated, accusing her of inventing the story. However, Priyanka has denied this, “It’s not cooked up..if you don’t want to believe I am not here to convince people like you..simple!!,” she says.
“She’s literally already moving to his place — leaving her mom and life behind. The guy gets to stay at his place with his parents and his dog, and the girl can’t? Also, people can have two priorities at the same time and both can still mean the world to them,” was one comment.
