India’s First 3D-Printed Villa in Pune Stuns Social Media
A video showcasing India’s first 3D-printed villa in Pune has taken Instagram by storm, impressing viewers with its revolutionary construction technology.
Shared by content creator Priyam Saraswat, the viral clip offers a glimpse inside the 2,000-square-foot villa, constructed entirely using 3D printing. The villa is part of the Godrej Eden Estate project in Maan, Hinjewadi, launched in June 2024 and completed within just four months.
In the video, the project’s director explains that the house wasn’t built using conventional methods but was “printed” on-site with a large machine.
“You have a massive printer installed on the plot. It prints the villa layer by layer using a special concrete mix. Each wall consists of two layers with a hollow space in between for ducts, pipes, and wiring,” he told Hindustan Times.
Developed by Godrej Properties in collaboration with Chennai-based startup Tvasta Engineering, the project highlights an eco-friendly, waste-free, and highly efficient construction method.
Although 3D printing is currently more expensive than traditional building techniques, experts suggest it significantly reduces construction time and may offer long-term cost benefits.
Social media users were awestruck by the innovation. One comment read, “This is incredible! I’ve never seen or heard of this before.”
With faster build times and futuristic designs, 3D-printed homes could be the next big shift in India’s housing sector.
