The Vivek Express: A Tribute to Swami Vivekananda

Introduced in the 2011-12 railway budget to honor Swami Vivekananda’s 150th birth anniversary, the Vivek Express features 19 coaches and traverses nine states: Assam, Nagaland, Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. With a total travel time of 75 hours and stops at 59 stations, it is a monumental journey through some of India’s most stunning regions.

Running twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the Vivek Express departs Dibrugarh at 7:25 PM and reaches Kanyakumari by 10:00 PM on the fourth day.
