SS Rajamouli has emerged as the highest-grossing filmmaker in Indian cinema, with his films earning a staggering ₹4250 crore at the box office. The Telugu director has surpassed all Bollywood filmmakers, cementing his place at the top.

His success is largely driven by the Baahubali franchise and the globally successful RRR. The two Baahubali films alone contributed ₹2400 crore to his total. Other hits like Magadheera and Eega have further solidified his dominance.

Bollywood’s top-earning director, Rohit Shetty, is second on the list, with his films collectively grossing nearly ₹3200 crore. He and Rajamouli are the only two Indian filmmakers whose films have crossed the ₹3000-crore mark.

Pushpa director Sukumar ranks third with over ₹2650 crore in earnings. Siddharth Anand and Nitesh Tiwari complete the top five, with both filmmakers grossing over ₹2400 crore. The only others in the ₹2000-crore club are Rajkumar Hirani and Prasanth Neel.

Veteran filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Karan Johar, and Mani Ratnam have not made the top 10, with cumulative box office earnings ranging between ₹1300 and ₹1700 crore.

Rajamouli has directed 12 films, all of which have been commercially successful. Except for two, each of his films has earned more than his previous release. His last three films were certified all-time blockbusters.

The director is currently working on his next film starring Mahesh Babu. Reports suggest Priyanka Chopra will also feature in the film. The title and release date are yet to be announced.
