IRCTC Introduces Helicopter Services For Kedarnath Yatra 2025: Check Routes, Fares, And Booking Guidelines

In a move aimed at easing travel for pilgrims, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched dedicated helicopter services for the Kedarnath Yatra 2025. The service will be operational from May 2 to May 31, offering quicker access to the revered Kedarnath Temple in Uttarakhand.

Pilgrims can avail themselves of helicopter rides from Phata, Sirsi, and Guptkashi, three key take-off points in the region. Round-trip fares are as follows:

• Phata to Kedarnath: ₹6,063
• Sirsi to Kedarnath: ₹6,061
• Guptkashi to Kedarnath: ₹8,533

These helicopter services provide a scenic and efficient alternative to the otherwise challenging trek, significantly reducing travel time.

Mandatory Registration and Booking Process

To utilize the helicopter service, Yatra registration is compulsory. Pilgrims must first register through the official Uttarakhand Tourism portal, where they need to create an account and provide travel details such as dates, duration, and number of travelers. Upon successful registration, a Yatra permit is issued, which is required for booking helicopter tickets.

Bookings can then be made via the official Heliyatra portal. After OTP verification using a registered mobile number and email, users can input their registration number, choose their travel slot, and proceed with the payment. Each user can book up to two tickets, with a maximum of six passengers per ticket.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Bookings can be canceled, and refunds will be processed within 5–7 working days, subject to cancellation charges. No refund is offered for cancellations made within 24 hours of departure.

With demand expected to be high, early bookings are recommended to ensure preferred dates and timings. This service is set to make the Kedarnath Yatra a smoother and more comfortable experience in 2025.
