IRCTC Launches Bharat Gaurav Train Tour to 7 Jyotirlingas Starting This November – All You Need to Know
In a significant move for Kumbh Mela pilgrims, IRCTC has announced a special train, Bharat Gaurav, to connect Pune and Prayagraj directly. This initiative has been widely welcomed by devotees planning to attend the grand religious event.
The Maha Kumbh Mela will be held in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, from January 13 to February 26, 2025. The 44-day event is expected to attract millions of devotees from across India and abroad. In preparation, the local and railway administrations have implemented key measures to facilitate smoother travel.
According to IRCTC Tourism Manager Subhash Nair, the Bharat Gaurav train will depart from Pune at 10 PM on January 15, heading to Prayagraj. This special service has been launched under the central government’s “Dekho Apna Desh” scheme. So far, 86 Bharat Gaurav trains have been introduced nationwide under this initiative.
In addition to the Bharat Gaurav train, other special trains connecting Prayagraj include Nanded-Patna-Nanded, Aurangabad-Patna-Aurangabad, Kachiguda-Patna-Kachiguda, and Secunderabad-Patna-Secunderabad via Prayagraj Cheoki.
The Kumbh Mela will begin on January 13 with the Paush Purnima Snan and marks a once-in-12-years event. The city of Prayagraj is fully prepared to host the vast influx of devotees, including saints, seers, and pilgrims. This year, an estimated 40 crore devotees are expected to attend the event. To accommodate the massive crowd, over 3,000 trains and 200 chartered flights have been arranged.
The Bharat Gaurav train and other initiatives aim to ensure seamless travel for pilgrims, making the spiritual journey more convenient and memorable.
