Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez is grieving the demise of her mother, Kim Fernandez, who passed away after suffering a stroke. The funeral will be held privately, attended by close family and friends.
Jacqueline Fernandez’s mother, Kim Fernandez, passed away following complications from a stroke, days after being admitted to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital. She was hospitalised on March 24 and placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where medical teams made continuous efforts to stabilise her condition. Despite best efforts, Kim could not be revived.
Jacqueline, who shares a close bond with her mother, immediately rushed back from her professional commitments to be with her during the medical emergency. The actress, who was set to perform at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 opening ceremony in Guwahati on March 26, cancelled her appearance to remain by her mother’s side during her hospitalisation.
A close source revealed, “Jacqueline’s mother was in the ICU recovering from a heart stroke. Jacqueline chose to stay with her family during this difficult time and opted out of the IPL ceremony.”
Salman Khan, Jacqueline’s co-star from Kick, was spotted visiting Lilavati Hospital to offer support to the grieving actress and her family.
Kim Fernandez, who lived in Manama, Bahrain, came from a diverse multicultural background. Her roots trace back to Malaysia, Canada, and Goa, India. Known for staying away from the limelight, Kim had suffered a stroke earlier in 2022 as well, for which she was treated in Bahrain.
At the time of writing, Jacqueline Fernandez has not released an official statement. The last rites and funeral proceedings are expected to take place in a private setting.
