Jio AirFiber now available in 8 cities offering upto 1Gbps speed
Jio AirFiber : Jio has launched its new wireless internet service in eight cities across the country. The service offers six plans with high-speed internet, OTT benefits and other features.
From the implementation of UPI to the digitalization of governmental amenities, high-speed internet has evolved into an indispensable requirement for uninterrupted professional operations. Yet, the inconsistency of mobile networks and the limited reach of cable fiber networks have posed significant challenges.
In response, Jio has launched Jio AirFiber in September 2023, aiming to facilitate swift wireless connections and address the demand for accelerated internet speeds. Leveraging 5G technology, Jio AirFiber has been tailored to accommodate the requisites of home entertainment, smart home services, and high-speed broadband, providing internet speeds akin to those offered by conventional fiber-optic connections, with the potential for users to access speeds of up to 1 Gbps.
Jio AirFiber resembles the concept of wireless 4G dongles but with the added advantage of broadband-like speeds through 5G. The service offers an array of plans with speeds ranging from 30Mbps to 1Gbps. As of now, Jio AirFiber is accessible in a limited number of cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune, with plans for a nationwide expansion.
For those interested in procuring a Jio AirFiber connection, Jio has laid out a straightforward booking process. Prospective users can check the availability of the service on the Jio website, My Jio app, or by reaching out to Jio customer support. Booking a new connection can be initiated through a missed call to 60008-60008, via the Jio website or My Jio app, or by visiting the nearest Jio Store. Upon completing the registration process, users will be notified once the service becomes accessible in their area. Following confirmation, the Jio AirFiber connection will be delivered, accompanied by a WiFi router, 4K Smart Set-Top Box, voice-activated remote, and an outdoor unit, which will be installed on the terrace/rooftop or outside the residence.
It is important to note that Jio is currently offering the new connection at no additional cost, with an installation service fee of Rs 1,000. This fee will be waived for those opting for an annual plan. Additionally, users have the flexibility to opt for monthly payments via credit/debit card-based EMI while still enjoying the benefits of an annual plan.
Jio has unveiled six Jio AirFiber plans, divided into two categories: AirFiber and AirFiber Max plans. The AirFiber plans, priced at Rs 599, Rs 899, and Rs 1199, respectively, offer internet speeds of up to 100 Mbps along with access to over 550 digital channels and 14 OTT apps. The highest-tier Rs 1199 plan also includes complimentary subscriptions to Netflix, Amazon Prime, and JioCinema Premium.
On the other hand, the AirFiber Max plans, priced at Rs 1499, Rs 2499, and Rs 3999, provide blazing internet speeds of up to 1Gbps and the same additional benefits as the AirFiber plans. However, Jio AirFiber Max will only be available in select areas.
