Kalepadal Police Crack Down on Illegal Gas Refilling Racket In Pune, Seize 80 Cylinders 

Pune: Following the directives of the Commissioner of Police, Pune, to take stringent action against illegal businesses and transportation activities in the city, Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil of Kalepadal Police Station instructed officers and personnel to carry out operations against unlawful activities.

Acting on these orders, on March 18, 2025, at approximately 1:00 PM, a team from Kalepadal Police Station, including Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete, Constables Pravin Kalbhor, Atul Pandharkar, Mahadev Shinde, and Saddam Tamboli, were patrolling their jurisdiction. During the patrol, Constable Atul Pandharkar received confidential information about illegal gas refilling at a tin shed near Mauli Gas Agency, adjacent to Ryan Salon, opposite ARV Society, Handewadi Road, Hadapsar, Pune.  

Upon receiving the tip, the police team, under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil, set up a trap and raided the location. During the raid, they apprehended an individual engaged in transferring gas from domestic LPG cylinders into smaller cylinders. When questioned, the suspect identified himself as Vikant Rajkumar Jadhav, 22, residing at Flat No. 102, Shobha Sparsh Apartment, near Saibaba Temple, Sasane Nagar, Hadapsar, Pune.

During the operation, the police seized a total of 80 gas cylinders, a weighing scale, and gas transfer pipes, collectively valued at ₹1,30,430. The case is currently under further investigation by Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete.

This successful operation was conducted under the leadership and guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr. Rajkumar Shinde (Circle 5), Assistant Commissioner of Police Dhanyakumar Godse (Wanawadi Division), Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil (Kalepadal Police Station), Crime Inspector Amar Kalange, Assistant Police Inspector Amit Shete, and the team consisting of Constables Pravin Kalbhor, Atul Pandharkar, Mahadev Shinde, and Saddam Tamboli. The police team has been commended for their outstanding efforts in executing this operation.
