Kangana Ranaut Wants Karan Johar to Act in Her Directorial, Says ‘It Will Not Be on Saas-Bahu Ki Chuglibaazi
Kangana Ranaut has expressed desire for Karan Johar to take on a role in her directorial project, emphasizing that the film will steer clear of typical saas-bahu drama.
Kangana was questioned about whether she would consider acting in a film produced by Karan’s Dharma Productions, despite their ongoing feud. She laughed and replied, “I’m sorry to say, but Karan sir ko mere saath movie karna chahiye (should do a movie with me). I’ll give him a very good role and I’ll make a very good film, which will not be saas-bahu ki chuglibaazi and which will not be just, you know, PR exercise. It will be a proper film and he’ll get a proper role,” actress Kangana Ranaut had said during her appearance in Indian Idol 15.
It is worthy to note that Kangana and Karan share a tumultuous and enduring relationship, characterized by public disputes and intense confrontations.

In 2017, Kangana made an appearance on an episode of Koffee with Karan season 5, sharing the stage with her Rangoon co-stars Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor. During the notorious Rapid Fire segment, Karan posed a question to Kangana about who she would cast as the villain in her biopic. To his astonishment, she pointed directly at him and declared, “The flag-bearer of nepotism.” During the episode, she referred to him as a ‘movie mafia’. Karan responded by suggesting that if Kangana had so many grievances with the industry, she should consider leaving it and urged her to stop portraying herself as a victim. Last year, Kangana reignited the feud by accusing Karan of manipulating box office numbers in relation to his film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani.”
Karan later contended that although he demonstrated elegance as a host, no other current film producer has introduced as many new directors through his company. He clarified that his decision not to collaborate with Kangana was a matter of personal choice, rather than her being an outsider.
Karan Johar’s latest directorial project is Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, a film that delves into the intricate dynamics between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, all while weaving a romantic narrative featuring two people from distinct castes.
