Kinetic Green is gearing up to reintroduce a beloved icon with a futuristic twist — the all-new Kinetic DX electric scooter, officially launching on July 28, 2025. Reviving the nostalgia of the original Kinetic Honda DX, this retro-inspired EV blends old-school charm with cutting-edge features, aimed squarely at today’s urban commuter.

Originally a product of the joint venture between Kinetic Engineering and Honda Motor Company, the DX was a household name in India through the ‘80s and ‘90s. Now, the legendary name is making a comeback — this time fully electric, modernized, and designed to meet the needs of a new generation.

Classic Looks, Contemporary Features

Early teasers and spy shots suggest the Kinetic DX retains the familiar silhouette of its predecessor, but with premium modern updates. Expect a backlit ‘Kinetic’ logoLED headlamp cluster, and a TFT digital instrument panel. There’s also illuminated branding on the front apron and above the headlight, placed over a black contrast panel for added visual appeal. A striking red color variant has been spotted, with more options likely to follow.

Under the Hood: A Modern Powertrain

Beneath the retro bodywork lies a state-of-the-art electric setup. The DX will feature a hub-mounted motor and offer multiple battery configurations, likely ranging from 1.8 kWh to 3.5 kWh. With a top speed of around 80 km/h, it will take on rivals like the TVS iQube, Hero Vida VX2, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 X, and Ather Rizta in the mid-range EV segment.

On the hardware front, the scooter will sport 12-inch wheels, a front disc brake, telescopic front forks, and dual rear shock absorbers, ensuring comfort and stability on urban roads.

Unique Touches and Features

In a quirky nod to its heritage, the new DX might include artificial exhaust sound effects that mimic the distinct buzz of the original two-stroke engine — a nostalgic feature aimed at older fans of the brand.

More Than Just a Comeback

While full specs and pricing are expected at the launch event, the Kinetic DX is already being seen as a smart, stylish, and family-friendly EV — combining the practicality of a daily rider with the emotional appeal of a reimagined icon.

Kinetic Green’s strategy doesn’t stop here. The company is planning to roll out three new “Born Electric” models in the next 18 months, signaling a bold push into India’s rapidly evolving electric mobility market.

As the countdown begins, the Kinetic DX is set to make history once again — only this time, it will do so silently, cleanly, and electrically.
