Incidents of crime are steadily rising in Pune, with the notorious Koyta (machete) gang once again becoming active. In a shocking incident, a youth was brutally attacked in broad daylight in the Dattawadi area.
The assault, captured on CCTV, shows a group of two to three assailants chasing and attacking the victim with a machete. The youth sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The chilling footage has since gone viral on social media, sparking fear and concern among residents. The local community is alarmed by the gang’s return and the audacity of such attacks during daytime.
A case has been registered at the Dattawadi Police Station, and a probe is underway. Pune Police are actively searching for the suspects involved.
