Pune, August 6, 2025: Panic swept through the Hadapsar area on Monday night after a gang of six youths armed with koytas (sickle-like weapons) launched a violent rampage, damaging shops, street food stalls, and vehicles near Sadesatranali and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Chowk.

The shocking incident occurred around 9:20 PM near Survey No. 195, according to Hadapsar police officials. The attackers, riding on two motorcycles, reportedly struck without any provocation, targeting roadside vendors and parked vehicles in the busy locality.

Several pani puri stalls, local shops, and at least four vehicles were damaged in the assault. Eyewitnesses said the gang shouted threats and terrorised bystanders, creating chaos and fear among the residents.

While the motive behind the attack remains unclear, police suspect it may be related to local gang rivalry or an attempt to assert dominance in the area.

Sub-inspector Hasan Mulani from Hadapsar Police Station said, “We are analysing CCTV footage to identify the attackers. Initial findings suggest they may have been intoxicated. Their primary intent appears to have been to spread fear by damaging public and private property.”

The police have launched a manhunt for the culprits and have assured that strict action will be taken.
