Leopard rescued after search operation carried by forest dept near Serum Institute

After a 3 hour long search operation carried out by the Pune Forest department and Pune Police, leopard was finally rescued near Serum Institute in Hadapsar.

Yesterday, the leopard had attacked a morning walker near Gosavi wasti near Hadapsar. The injured was then admitted to Sassoon hospital.for further treatment, while the forest officials were conducting survey of the area.

Sambhaji Aatole and his friend Amol Londhe were on their morning walk when the leopard attacked Aatole.

Forest department also issued an advisory for the citizens.to.follow if they encounter any wild animal in their vicinity. Incase of such incidents citizens may contact on the Helpline number 1926.

The forest department had decided to carry night patrolling yesterday evening. But it was reported by the locals that the leopard was seen again. The forest department rushed to the spot and rescued him. The rescue operation was carried out by forest department officials Assistant Conservator of Forest Ashutosh Shendge, Forest zonal officer M V Sapkal, Sameer Ingale, Coordinator of ResQ team Anuj Khare and Range Forest Officer Mukesh Sanas.
