In a tragic incident in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, a young man named Chandraprakash succumbed to severe burns after his mobile phone accidentally slipped into a pot of boiling oil while he was cooking, leading to an explosion. The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, leaving the community in shock.

Chandraprakash, a resident of Lahar in Bhind, was reportedly multitasking in the kitchen, preparing a meal while using his mobile phone. As he checked his phone, it accidentally slipped from his hands into a pot of hot oil. The battery of the phone exploded upon contact with the boiling oil, causing serious burns from both the oil and the subsequent fire.

Following the incident, Chandraprakash was first rushed to the local civil hospital in Lahar. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to Gwalior for advanced treatment. Tragically, he passed away en route to Gwalior due to delays in reaching the hospital.

Family members have expressed frustration and grief over the delay in medical assistance, which they believe contributed to his death. The ambulance carrying Chandraprakash was stalled by a traffic jam on a narrow bridge over the Sindh River. Attempts to find an alternate route forced the ambulance on a long detour, adding approximately 80 kilometers through Tharet, Indergarh, and Dabra, ultimately delaying the journey by two hours.

Chandraprakash’s untimely death has left his family devastated. He is survived by his wife, a 14-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son. His family members voiced their anguish, emphasizing that timely medical assistance could have potentially saved his life. The delay in ambulance services and lack of an efficient route to the hospital has become a point of concern for local residents.

The Lahar Police Station registered the incident based on a complaint filed by Chandraprakash’s uncle, Akhilesh, under “death due to mobile explosion”. Authorities are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and looking into any safety and response protocols that could help prevent similar tragedies in the future.
