Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray recently held a meeting to view the preparedness of the health services in the state in view of increasing Covid19 cases. 

With the Covid19 vaccination facilities established in urban areas, the need for facilities in rural areas also needs to be streamlined and increased. The meeting was held to take a stock of the situation for vaccination facility in the rural areas as well as provide facilities at several private hospitals too. 
Maharashtra state ranks second in Covid19 vaccination while Rajasthan ranks first for providing vaccination facilities to many ever since the vaccination started in the country. The Maharashtra state eyes at providing over 3 lakh vaccinations to beneficiaries everyday.

Also, there are several reasons for wastage of vaccine. The percentage of wastage of vaccination in our state is minimal. In some states it is 20 percent while in Maharashtra it is 6 percent and efforts are taken to bring it down to zero. The Maharashtra state is working towards Zero Waste Policy.

The spike in Covid19 cases is reaching new high everyday. This has given importance to institutional quarantine as well as more priority on tracking, testing and treatment. These three T are more important and advisory is issued to the department to ensure that it is followed. 
With the increasing cases, the state administration has emphasized on hiring medical staff on contract basis and also on how to increase the number of beds in the hospitals to accomodate if the spike continues. The authorities are asked to chalk out a plan to work towards bringing the situation in control.
