Mahakumbh 2025: Akasa Air Announces Special Flights to Prayagraj from Pune And Three Major Cities

As Mahakumbh 2025 approaches, Akasa Air has unveiled a special flight schedule to accommodate the surge in travel demand during the festival. From January 28 to February 26, Akasa Air will operate flights connecting Prayagraj to four key cities: Pune, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Bengaluru.

• Daily Flights: All routes will feature a stopover in Delhi, ensuring seamless connections for travelers.
• Direct Flights: Available from Ahmedabad and Bengaluru on select days.

DGCA Increases Air Connectivity

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has authorized 81 additional flights in January, bringing the total number of flights to Prayagraj to 132 from across the country. In a social media update, DGCA urged airlines to further boost capacity and rationalize airfares amid soaring travel demand.

Surge in Bookings and Airfares

The demand for flights to Prayagraj has skyrocketed, with ticket prices rising by as much as 21% for popular routes like Delhi-Prayagraj, according to travel platform Ixigo. Despite this, airlines are actively working to keep travel costs manageable.
