President of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Raj Thackeray, will be visiting Pune as part of his campaign for MNS candidates in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. He is scheduled to hold meetings in Pune on November 9 and 13 for candidates contesting from various constituencies.

On November 9, meetings will focus on MNS candidates from the Kasba and Kothrud assembly constituencies, while on November 13, the campaign gatherings will be for the Khadakwasla and Hadapsar constituencies. However, the specific locations for these meetings have not yet been confirmed, according to party officials.

MNS has nominated candidates in four out of the eight assembly constituencies within Pune city, from the total of 21 constituencies in the Pune district. Thackeray’s visit is anticipated to significantly enhance the party’s campaign efforts as he works to garner support for his candidates in these important areas.

Raj Thackeray previously stirred controversy by declaring that the MNS would contest the upcoming assembly elections independently, without aligning with any major political alliances. This decision came after the party had shown unconditional support for the Grand Alliance (Mahayuti) during the Lok Sabha elections, leading to speculation about its participation in the state assembly polls. However, Thackeray confirmed that MNS would field its own candidates, naming Mayuresh Wanjale (son of the late MNS MLA Ramesh Wanjale) from Khadakwasla, Mayor Sainath Babar from Hadapsar, former corporator Kishore Shinde from Kothrud, and Ganesh Bhokare from Kasba as its nominees.

Thackeray has been actively campaigning throughout Maharashtra, conducting meetings where he has sharply criticized the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), BJP, and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), advocating for a change in leadership. His message has resonated with many voters who believe it’s time for a new generation of leaders, especially in Pune city, where the MNS enjoys strong support, particularly among the youth. Past meetings held by Thackeray in Pune have attracted large crowds, demonstrating significant backing for his party. With his upcoming meetings in the city, political observers are closely watching for his comments on the current state of governance and his strategy to challenge established political parties.
