Maharashtra Cabinet Announces Key Decisions Ahead of Assembly Elections

In a significant move, the Maharashtra state cabinet, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, made several key announcements on Monday, October 14, aimed at providing relief to the common people. The decisions were taken during a cabinet meeting held at Sahyadri Guest House, attended by Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Ajit Pawar, and other cabinet members.
In a major relief to Mumbaikars, the cabinet approved toll exemption for light vehicles at all five entry points in Mumbai, effective from 12 PM on the same day. Additionally, two major river linking projects, Damanganga to Godavari and Ashti Upsa Irrigation Scheme, received approval.
Other significant decisions included the establishment of a corporation for Agri Samaj, career advancement schemes for teachers in social work colleges, and land allocation for various projects, including Hybrid Skill University and Thane Municipality Administrative Building.
The cabinet also approved the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, railway track works in Pune Metro Rail Phase-II, and loan waivers for farmers. Furthermore, the government announced the waiver of arrears for distressed cooperative irrigation schemes and approved new posts in Government Medical College, Miraj.
